Your guide and your driver with the car/van will meet you in your hotel at 8:30 am, a 1 and half hour drive will take you to Xianggongshan Hill about 60 km southeast of Guilin city.
Firstly, climb by the steps to the top of the hill, where a stunning panoramic view of the Li River and the karst mountains around can be enjoyed.
After coming down from the hill, take our van to go to Laocuntou Village, from where we start our hiking. Our hiking will be on the west bank of the Li River, and we walk upstream along the river for about 2 hours, and will see several famous scenic spots during this part: The Painted Hill of Nine Horses, the Immortal Riding on the Back of the Rooster, the Xialong Scenery and the Apple Rock, etc. We also walk through several peaceful riverside villages. It’s so different to appreciate the beauty of the Li River by hiking from cruising. You can stop anywhere you like, spending more time there than the other places. Your view angle will be higher and wider than on the boat. You see local people’s life in their villages and fields along, which can sometimes bring you a nostalgic feeling.
After Quanjiazhou Village, we will hike uphill to the left, leaving the Li River. The mountain paths are rough and narrow. In about 1 hour, we will get to a village named Xianei, where our driver awaits.
